The Situation Room Experience: Washington’s Cabinet is an educational interactive experience that immerses participants in a historically-based crisis scenario.
The simulation places participants in the roles of Washington, Jefferson, Hamilton, and dozens of historical figures during the “Neutrality Crisis” of 1793, during George Washington’s second term as President. It is an opportunity for any participant, male or female, to walk in the shoes of a founding father and “Be Washington”...or Hamilton or Jefferson or any of 49 unique historical figures. This series of events has been identified as a critical test of Washington’s leadership and a defining moment in American history. The resolution of these events established the tone of American foreign policy for centuries, while also defining executive powers and the changing the relationship of the individual states to the federal government. This was also the period that saw the rise of partisan political parties within the United States, despite Washington’s best efforts and intentions. |
